Religious Education
The aim of religious Education is to learn about beliefs and religious practices and to explore fundamental concepts of human life. We want all our pupils to be able to explore religious traditions and beliefs as well as non- religious concepts (humanism). They should develop their knowledge of beliefs, values, traditions and religious institutions. All pupils will develop their understanding of stories, sayings and customs within religions and non-religious traditions. All pupils should learn to understand how meaning is shown through religious texts, ritual, symbolism and art. Overall, all pupils will develop skills needed to reflect on their own beliefs and home traditions while respecting the right of others to hold beliefs different to their own.
